Magic of ABC

In September 1977, ABC aired The Magic of ABC a fall preview special/variety hour hosted by illusionist David Copperfield. It was his first television special. The elaborate, hour-long mix of magic, singing and dancing featured 14 ABC stars who helped promote and introduce the network's new and returning programs. Reportedly, this special features the first time anyone was ever sawed in half lengthwise. Featuring guest stars Fred Berry, Shaun Cassidy, Howard Cosell, Kate Jackson, Hal Linden, Penny Marshall, Kristy McNichol, Donny and Marie Osmond, Parker Stevenson, Dick Van Patten, Adam Rich, Abe Vigoda and Cindy Williams.
